This series is still in-progress, but these five pieces are done. I’ve been taken with the term “Inherent Vice” since I first heard it in a podcast about curation. I have forgotten the name of the Podcast, but I wrote the words in giant sharpie on a napkin I had nearby. Which exemplifies the term. It is “the tendency in physical objects to deteriorate because of the fundamental instability of the components of which they are made.”
They are each roughly 80″ x 30″, media are usually gelatin silver paper, nori paste, gesso, kozo paper on wood panel. 2023.
